...High Surf Advisory along the coast Wednesday through Thursday
morning...
A large long period northwest swell has arrived at the coastal
waters and will persist through Thursday morning. Seas of 15 to 17
feet with breaking waves to 22 feet in the surf zone will be
possible.
...HIGH SURF ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM PDT THURSDAY...
* WAVES AND SURF...Seas building rapidly from 15 to 17 feet with
breaking waves to 22 feet possible in the surf zone.
* TIMING...Until 9 am Thursday.
* IMPACTS...Beach visitors, surfers, fisherman and others
visiting the beaches should be prepared for rapidly building
seas with dangerous crashing waves in the surf zone. Sea
surface temperatures in the mid 50s will cause hypothermia in
a short amount of time. The surf zone has been relatively
tranquil and this will be a quick change in surf conditions.
Beach and water related fatalities are common but preventable.
